Reading Groups

The Institute for Women's Leadership collaborates with students/faulty/student groups to coordinate reading groups relating to women's issues.  We invite you to participate in these groups! If you have an idea for a reading group, please email: iwl@csbsju.edu


Fall 2009 Institute for Women's Leadership Reading Groups:

Unhooked: How Young Women Pursue Sex, Delay Love and Lose at Both by Laura Sessions Stepp

      This reading group is part of the Women's Healthy Choices series. Dr. Kari-Shane Davis Zimmerman led and facilitated this reading group, which met throughout the month of September. Dr. Kari-Shane Davis Zimmerman will also lead another discussion on this book in January.

Bad Girls Go Everywhere: The Life of Helen Gurley Brown by Jennifer Scanlon

      This reading group will be lead and facilitated by Shane Miller, professor of communication and gender and women's studies. It will meet throughout the month of November.
