  Abercrombie and Fitch has partnered with LOFT (Latinos on Fast Track) to diversify their workforce through their Manger in Training Program.

Description:  Emergency Food Program, Clothing Program, Financial Services, and Triage Mental Health Counseling.  Special social services programs include Senior Outreach, Thanksgiving Food Baskets, Nutrition Education Project, Back to School Program, Quilts Program, Career Closet, the Baby Layette Program, Birthday Boxes, Food Baskets, Toys for Tots.  The programs depend on volunteer help; volunteers provide 12,000 hours of help each year.
Responsibilities: Work with donors, business, churches, and organizations in the community. Prepare and publish media news information regarding the program services. Be apart of team planning, organizing, and managing large food and clothing drives and fundraising projects.
Requirements:  Advancement towards BA/BS degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other Human Services field.

The American Red Cross of the St. Paul Area has an opening for a Volunteer Recruitment Intern late summer/fall semester: July - December, 15-20 hours per week.  This intern will aid in identifying and developing a volunteer driver recruitment plan.  Qualifications: Undergraduate study in non-profit management, volunteer administration, human services, marketing, human resources, or related fields.  Applicants should have excellent communication skills with experience or an interest in delivering presentations to diverse audiences.  Good interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate a project activity from beginning to end will also be considered.  An interest in volunteer management is desirable.  Stipend and mileage reimbursement available.

Graphics Internship Program
Description: The Graphics Department of The Associated Press is offering a 12- week internship. Interns will get to create breaking and advanced graphics for national, international, sports, and business fields. Interns will also get to work on research and interviewing techniques. This internship is paid.
Responsibilities: Interns will learn to manipulate data and create meta-data oriented graphics, learn vector rendering, and 3-D rendering styles for graphics.
Requirements: Interns must be a junior or senior. Start dates may be anytime between mid- May and mid- June depending on schedule.

This full-time summer position plays an integral role in the management of Best Buy Charity Classic.  The Charity Classic is one of the largest fundraisers in Minnesota, raising $2.7 million for the Best Buy Children’s Foundation in 2005.

Costa Rican Vacations – Costa Rica                                               ON-GOING
Description:  Tony Silva, a 1996 alum of SJU, owns a travel agency located in Costa Rica.  He has alerted us to two new internship opportunities for either an undergraduate or post graduate in the areas of Marketing and Sales and Operations and Finance.  The internships will consist of a series of short to mid-term projects with minimal supervision.  As such, interns must be self-starting, organized and motivated individuals.  Some of these tasks will be highly challenging, others may seem dull.  Interns are expected to attack them all with energy, creativity and professionalism.  Interns will receive free housing and utilities as well as a $200 per month stipend.  The intern apartment is in the San Jose suburb of Rohrmoser (Pavas) just 20 feet from their office.  Start and end dates:  Approx. The Department of Trade and Economic Development (DTED) in conjunction with local economic developers are conducting a study to collect underemployment data.  The intern would help in estimating the skills of their workforce, estimating the wage at which workers will change jobs, other occupations workers would be interested in working, estimates of the people willing to re-enter the workforce, commuting patterns, as well as an employer survey of needed skills, workers by occupation, and future demand for workers.  The intern will perform the following: some data clean up, arrangement and tabulations of descriptive statistics for all questions asked on survey, numerous cross-tabulations, combine household data and employer data and analyze, make tables and graphs, reporting on findings above with some "extra insight" added, design and write 2 regional reports and 11 county reports, and present information and reports to interested parties.   Candidates must have excellent database skills (specifically Access) and some statistics classes would be helpful.  Applicable majors are Economics, Management, Computer Science, and Political Science.  MN Department of Economic Securities is looking for a Research Assistant that has the following character traits: responsible, able to work independently, able to complete tasks in tight timeframe when necessary, dedicated, not a procrastinator, honest, a hard worker, takes suggestions and instruction fr
