American Red Cross- Minneapolis ON-GOING
The Greater Minneapolis Area Chapter of the American Red Cross provides a number of unique opportunities for interns to examine, gain experience, learn from, and contribute to the nation's foremost volunteer emergency services organization. Internships are offered in the areas of International Humanitarian Law, Campaigning, Community Health & Safety, Social Work, Community Services, Disaster Coordinator, Volunteer Services, Financial Development, Marketing, Health and Safety Education, HIV/AIDS Community Health Education. Description: Education Internship. Qualifications: Position is open to juniors or seniors who have completed some coursework in education, health or social work. Organized, good communicator with basic computer skills, including PowerPoint. Research and presentation skills preferred. An interest in nonprofit organizations is a plus. We ask for a minimum of one term with 8+ hours per week, primarily weekday hours but a few early evening hours may also be available.

Minnesota Zoo - Apple Valley, MN ON-GOING
The Minnesota Zoo Education Internship Program is designed to provide college level student interns or adults wishing to change careers with practical learning experiences. A student intern must be receiving academic credit, or be fulfilling an academic requirement, from an accredited institution of higher education. Interns will assist with and teach zoo camp programs for children ages preschool to 8th grade, explore various teaching techniques, gain experience with different styles of interpretation, develop and prepare curriculum material and design a project focused on the intern’s interests and abilities. Description: The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education is currently recruiting students for the new U.S. Department of Energy DOE scholars Internship Program. Women’s Sports Foundation – Meadow, NY ON-GOING
The Women’s Sports Foundation has openings for full time internship positions for fall. The American Lung Association is seeking a Capitol Classic Golf Tournament Coordinator Intern. The intern will assist the tournament director with the coordination of this $250,000 golf tournament. Responsibilities include: coordinate silent auction, coordinate solicitation mailing process, conduct essential donor follow-up, assist in information collection for the tournament program, and attend tournament and assist as needed. The MASC was created in 1987 by the Minnesota State Legislature to promote the economic and social benefits of sports.
1) MASC is currently looking for students interested in duties and tasks related to the administrative organization of major amateur sports events and projects. 2) A second event planning intern position is available. The Development department at Minnesota Children’s Museum is seeking an intern to assist in the planning and execution of its 2004 Benefit Gala on February 21st. St Paul Saints - St. Paul, MN
The St. Paul Saints Professional Baseball club of the Northern League is seeking an intern interested in all aspects of event production and management. Responsibilities will include: database management, prospecting sales leads, calling potential sponsors, designing sales materials and proposals, vendor contact negotiations, and volunteer management. The intern must be creative, highly organized, energetic, and able to work well as a part of a team in a challenging office setting. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is appreciated but not necessary for the position. This is a 9-5, Monday through Thursday (more on events days) position from January 3 until October 3. Schedule for events and games days is 8:30am – 6:00pm. From January through April the position is unpaid but the organization is willing to work with students who desire to earn academic credit. The UCP-CM is looking for a part-time, unpaid intern, to assist with researching and compiling their fifty years of historical documents and photographs. The position will include interviewing persons involved with UPC-CM throughout the years, designing a pictorial history of UCP on a display board and scrap booking news articles. Hours are flexible, but the intern will be expected to work 15-20 hours per week. This position is available for the spring of 2004 semester.

Youth Performance Company (YPC) – Minneapolis, MN
Youth Performance Company (YPC), a youth-centered theatre company, is seeking an intern assistant for its annual fundraising project “Cattle Call”. This year’s event is scheduled for March 10, 2002 at the International Market Square in Minneapolis. The event features a large silent auction (over 250 items), sit down dinner and fabulous entertainment. This year’s goal aims to raise $35,000. The intern will assist the Youth Performance Company’s Development Director and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: assisting with silent auction request letters and follow-up, the creation of a silent auction program, the creation of all silent auction displays, and all the other aspects that go into getting this silent auction together. This is a stipend position.
