Festival of Cultures

Where: Field House of the Haehn Campus Center

Time: 5:00PM-8:00PM

The Festival of Cultures is a one day event with music, entertainment, food and cultural booths. It is a day that celebrates and recognizes the diversity that exists on the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University campuses. The event is open to students, faculty, staff, and monastic and community members from St. Joseph, St. Cloud and Collegeville.

Four CSB & SJU grads who bicycled from Beijing to Paris will be performing their music and speaking about cultures they encountered.

Sponsored by the International Student Program Office, CSB Culinary Services, SJU Food Service, Cultural Affairs Board, CSB Student Development and SJU Student Development.

Deadlines!

Oct. 17th - ALL recipes due! NO recipes will be accepted after this date!  If you do not submit a recipe you will either not have food or we will use a recipe from a past year.  

Oct. 27th - ALL media and set-up needs must be submitted.

Oct. 24th - ALL requests to perform for Festival must be submitted.

Oct. 31rd - last day to meet with Advisor for money requests.

 

Decorate and Refresh your Tri-Boards!

 

The Resource Room in Mary Commons (next to Aurora Hall) will be open and available for students to use in updating their tri-boards or other booth/table decorations the week leading up to Festival.

Please note that the room will only be open during these days from 8am – 11pm!

Sunday, November 9th, Monday, November 10th, Tuesday, November 11th, & Wednesday, November 12th

 

ATTENTION all Festival Participants!

Friday, Nov. 14thBooths/tables and other set-up needs will be done throughout the day. More information about this will be sent out closer to the event date. Please note: ALL booths/tables MUST be done and ready by 12pm Nov. 15th.

ATTENTION Student Performers!

Please email Krista at ksenden@csbsju.edu if you would like to perform at Festival of Cultures or if you would like to be in the fashion show.  Include in what you would like to perform or which culture you would represent in the fashion show.

Friday night, Nov. 14th – Mandatory dress-rehearsal for student performers. If you do not attend the dress rehearsal, you will NOT perform the next day!
