John Haupert

John Haupert is an Ambassador who studied abroad in Ireland.

Briefly describe a specific cultural experience you had on your trip that made a lasting impression.

The cultural experience that I got there was do everything you want to do. In Ireland there is so many things to do there and the people there support you in things you like to do.

Why did you choose the program in which you participated? 

Well I am a citizen of Ireland and all my family is there so I thought it would be a great chance to learn about my heritage and see my family.

Describe your overall study abroad experience.

I got to meet great people. I got to see incredible places. I also learned something about myself.

How has the trip affected you? How are you different for having completed the experience?

It has affected me by looking at situations from a different perspective. Things always aren't the way you see them. You have to look at them from different eyes and I think this trip helped me.

What advice do you have for future Study Abroad Students?

Travel as much as possible.
Budget your money.
Have fun.
