Briefly describe a specific cultural experience you had on your trip that made a lasting impression.

Our trip to Broome for a 5 day long stay with the Aboriginal people of Australia is something that not only will I never forget, but also something that gives me goosebumps each and every time I think about it. We experienced life in a whole new way and lived in a place that literally felt like a whole different world.

Why did you choose the program in which you particpated?

Because I wanted to experience life in a country that was the same, yet so different, from my own.

Describe your overall study abroad experience.

The trip of a lifetime. My semester in Australia is something that I can only describe as absolutely unforgettable.

How has the trip affected you? How are you different for having completed the experience?

Going to Australia enabled me to grow in ways I never thought possible. Not only was I able to expand my perspective and experience what I will forever call "the trip of a lifetime," but I also made friendships that I am certain will last for the rest of my life--both with CSB/SJU students, and Australian citizens. I truly learned who I am and who I want to be.

What advice do you have for future Study Abroad Students?

Take advantage of every second of your experience. Journal, take photos, meet new people, and try to leave just one thing or experience undone so that you have an excuse to return to that country someday.
