View Image Submitted by: Catherine Krause After a two hour train ride and a short bus ride, we are in Fussen, Germany, visiting Neuschwanstein Castle. We have two hours took climb the mountain, look at the castle, and get back to the train station in order to return to Salzburg that night. The three in the picture are trying to find the time of the last bus. | View Image Submitted by: Catherine Krause Cinque Terre, Italy.
On our ten day break, along with touring museums of Italy, many of us took a day to hike between these five little towns on the coast of Italy. This is while many of us were climbing down to touch the Mediterranean Sea. |

It was our last weekend in Salzburg and we were shopping for presents to take home. | View Image Submitted by: Christen Beckstrand An afternoon in October, when the weather was beautiful, it seemed the entire town came out of their homes and was outside. I sat on the bank of the river and just watched people passing, watched students studying, parents with children and tour boats go along the riverbank. |
View Image Submitted by: Erik Hendrickson One day when I was in Salzburg we had our class delayed until later. Myself and Jessica Argabright, another CSB student, took the bus out to Untersberg outside of Salzburg. We packed a lunch, I took my Austrian hat, and we hiked the 3 hours to the top. From there we could see everywhere...into Germany, the landscape of Salzburg and the Alps. It was beautiful. I was thinking at the top how cool it is that I just climbed a mountain before class. | View Image Submitted By: Erik Hendrickson This picture was taken while Jessica and I were travelling in Norway before the start of the Salzburg program. We had just taken the Flam railway, which was this really old railway that takes you down a mountain into the Sognefjord (which is the longest fjord in Norway). From there Jessica and I took a boat ride through the Sognefjord out to the coast of Norway. It was so beautiful. |
View Image Submitted by: Hannah Lammer A few of us decided to travel just south of Salzburg to Werfen, where a nearby mountain boasts the largest system of ice caves in the world. To get to the entrance of the ice caves we had to hike for a while up the mountain, which provided spectacular views of the fall colors on the surrounding mountains. | View Image Submitted by: Hannah Lammer One day in October, a small group of decided to go to Hallstatt, a small village a few hours away from Salzburg. We spent the beautiful day there walking along the lake, poking around in small shops, and learning about Hallstatt's history as a successful salt mining establishment. This picture captures the quaintness, antiquity, and serenity of the village. It was one of my favorite days during our stay in Austria! |
