CSB|SJU offer two ways for students to integrate into the Irish landscape.
The Irish studies fall semester program is located on the spectacularly rugged west coast of Ireland, famous for its poets, musicians and artists, and for its splendid vistas of green mountains, constantly changing skies, endless rows of field stone fences, winding valleys, swaths of bog land and rugged coastline. Students are housed in cottages overlooking Galway Bay, near the town of Spiddal. The faculty consists of a professor who accompanies the group and distinguished professors from nearby National University of Ireland, Galway. Students study the history, literature and culture of Ireland.
The approximate program dates for Ireland Galway are mid-September to mid-December.
If you have questions about the Galway program, you may contact OEA or the program director:

The second option to study abroad in Ireland occurs during the spring semester in Cork. This is a direct enrollment program at the University College Cork. Students can enroll in most of the courses offered at the university. Classes are available in the liberal arts and sciences. Students live with US, Irish and other international students in residences within walking distance of campus.
The approximate program dates for Ireland Cork are early January to late May.
As there is no faculty director for this program, students should be self motivated and desire a more autonomous, self-directed experience. For more details, contact OEA.
