Elaine Rutherford Bio

Elaine has taught painting in the art department at CSB/SJU since 1998.  In addition to various art classes she has taught FYS and Senior Seminar classes.  Elaine Rutherford holds a BFA from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee, Scotland and an MFA from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. 

 

The content of Elaine’s creative work and research focuses on migration, identity, nostalgia and narrative.  Her work has been exhibited internationally and is housed in various corporate and private collections in North and Latin America and in the UK. 

 

Elaine directed the London Study abroad program in the Fall of 2005 and is very excited at the opportunity to lead students on another study aboard experience.  Elaine will be joined by Assistant director Andrew McConnell and their three children, Talulah 10, Finlay 6 and Fergus 5 on this adventure.
