Web Programmer

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Information Technology Services department at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University, invite applications for the full time, administrative appointment of Web Programmer.  The Web Programmer is responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging, documentation and maintenance of web-based applications.  In addition, he/she consults with various departments to specify, develop, and implement web applications to improve and expand the overall functionality of the institutional web sites.  In addition, the Web Programmer supports and maintains existing Internet/Intranet applications and web sites; serve as a resource to other IT Services staff in regard to web application design and migration of existing applications to a web platform and provide 2nd and 3rd level client application support and troubleshooting.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field is preferred or at a minimum, a technical college certificate (or equivalent) with programming experience.  Knowledge of and experience in application/web development (ASP.NET, JSP, or PHP). A thorough working knowledge of PC architecture, communications protocols, hardware and software components. Technically proficient with the Microsoft product suite, including Windows XP/Vista/Server, Office 2007, and Windows applications in general.  Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and under multiple deadlines.  Good verbal and written communications skills are necessary, along with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the organization.
