Technical Director

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Fine Arts Programming at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invite applications for the full time position of Technical Director.  This position works collaboratively with other Technical staff to support all events in the Fine Arts Programming (FAP) performance venues.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: supervision of student crews at load-in, performance and load-out of all FAP and academic events; act as head of audio production for all facilities, and advise production manager of repairs to spaces and/or equipment.

Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree is required. Master of Fine Arts degree in Technical Direction desired, but considerable professional experience may suffice.  Professional touring experience is preferred.  This position requires evening and weekend work as well as some concentrated physical activity and the ability to work in catwalks and on ladders.  Supervisory and public relations skills are required to professionally communicate to internal and external clientele.  Excellent computer skills including Vectorworks and Microsoft Office is required.  A valid Minnesota drivers license is required.
