The Department of Counseling and Health Promotion at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invite applications for a full time, 10 month position (during the academic year) of Psychologist and Coordinator Substance Abuse Intervention Services. This position reports to the Director, Counseling and Health Promotion and provides individual and group counseling services to undergraduate and graduate students. This position will provide appropriate professional intake assessment, diagnosis, and/or referral services as needed; diagnostic interviewing and/or psychological testing, including substance abuse and eating disorders evaluations; crisis intervention; consultation with students, parents, faculty and staff, and outside professionals. In addition will coordinate and implement comprehensive substance abuse assessment, intervention, and prevention program; design and deliver outreach programs and psychoeducational workshops focused on gender (particularly men’s development), intercultural competence, mental health concerns, and sports psychology.
Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Counseling or Clinical Psychology required. ABD will be considered. Minnesota licensed psychologist, or license eligible, required. Training and experience in substance abuse/chemical dependency assessment and counseling is required. Research and statistical experience in this area preferred. The successful candidate will provide demonstrated experience and ability in providing psychological services (individual and group) in university counseling center setting; experience in clinical supervision preferred. In addition, should be able to demonstrate the ability of commitment to developmental and holistic health approaches to university counseling programs and services, particularly related to men’s development.
