The Office for Education Abroad at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University (CSB/SJU) invites applications for the full time position of Education Abroad Advisor. Responsibilities of the Education Abroad Advisor involve both program management and student advising which wll include planning and administering budgets for in-house study abroad programs; serve as primary contact for partner institutions and organizations and for faculty, staff and students on study abroad programs; procure visas for faculty directors and students; assist in preparing faculty directors to lead study abroad programs; wire funds and manage banking relationships with respect to study abroad programs; coordinate assessment and quality improvement process; oversee pre-departure advising; respond to issues and problems as they arise; facilitate the re-entry process and guide students to integrate their international experience with their academic, professional and personal development.
The Office of Education Abroad is responsible for providing study abroad opportunities to approximately 4000 undergraduate students. Specifically, the office is engaged in maintaining and operating 16 institutional semester-long study abroad programs. For more information visit http://www.csbsju.edu/internationaleducation/ .
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree and two years of work experience in the field of international education required. Academic degree related to international education; foreign language proficiency; and strong computer skills is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal relations skills is expected to build positive working relationships with internal and external clientele. Experience with budget management and related software (Excel) with the ability to coordinate work with others as part of a management team. Experience studying or working abroad is preferred.
