Assistant Director of the Men's Center

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Student Development at Saint John's University invite applications for a full time (10 month) position of Assistant Director of the Men's Center.  This position reports to the Executive Director of the Center for Men’s Leadership and Service and is primarily responsible for research, student programming and educational outreach activities to carry out the mission of the center. This position will assist the Executive Director with the major events of each year such as the Men’s Lives Series, Conference on the College Male, Sophomore Celebration and service projects but will also take responsibility for individual projects such as the Morehouse Exchange Project, Saint John’s Experience Project and starting a new Native American Men’s Project.  This position may also assume responsibility for a residence hall area as a Faculty Resident if it is mutually desired and agreed.  

Bachelor's degree is required, masters degree in student affairs or an academic discipline preferred with some specialization in men’s development and an understanding of traditional college age males. Experience working with college men in either a residence hall capacity or some other higher education experience preferably to include programming or research.  Supervisory experience; research experience and interest to carry on the role of the men’s center in the collection, presentation and publication of data on college men’s learning.
