Saint John's Preparatory is looking for extraordinary individuals interested in serving the holistic development of high school students in an educational community dedicated to the pursuit of environmental, cultural and spiritual values. We are looking for a select number of talented, self-motivated, inspiring young men and women interested in working with youth in a residential educational setting as part of a one-year paid internship program. Saint John’s Preparatory, a 150-year-old Catholic, Benedictine college preparatory school, is located on a 2,700-acre wildlife refuge consisting of lakes, wetlands, woodlands and restored prairie in north-central Minnesota. The Prep School, which shares a campus with Saint John’s University, offers coeducational day and boarding programs that feature a robust U.S. and international resident student population.
The successful incumbents will be selected based on the following criteria: completion of a four year BA or BS program from an accredited institution; interest or experience working and living with teenagers; knowledge of various cultures and their customs; knowledge or experience serving in a multicultural environment; appreciation of different spiritual practices and faith traditions; expressed interest in environmental stewardship and outdoor activities; expressed interest in residential life; expressed interest in service learning, social action and a simple lifestyle; expressed interest in living and working in community; demonstrated leadership, initiative, and personal responsibility and a valid US drivers license required. The offer of employment will be contingent upon a successful background check.

The letter of interest should address the following questions: What experiences do you have in a residential community setting that would contribute to your effectiveness as a residential intern? Give an example of a project where you have shown initiative, leadership, creativity, and resolve. What experience do you have planning and directing group events? What are your career goals related to this intern position?
