The Department of Culinary Service at the College of Saint Benedict, invites applications for two benefit eligible (75% time) positions of Team Lead. The Team Lead position is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the Gorecki Dining Center Front of House operation and Dish Room operation. This position directs staff, student managers and student employees in their work to ensure a welcoming environment and safe service of food to dining guests. The team lead will oversee all dish room operations, cashiering functions and food stations, including opening, operating and closing these areas; supervise extensive daily and deep cleaning of the dining room, dish room, dessert, beverage, and condiment areas on weekends and student breaks; assist the station chefs, dish room staff, cashiers, and student staff in their work, as needed; provide assistance to the retail staff when necessary; respond to customer questions, and assist the Culinary Services Manager in resolving concerns. This position will work varied hours and days to meet operational needs working 4-5 days a week during the academic year which includes every other weekend and 8-40 hours a week during the summer as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma required; 9-12 months experience or training in culinary/food service; team lead experience preferred; Food Safety Certification preferred. Effective communication and interpersonal relations skills required to professionally communicate to staff and guests; ability to problem-solve and respond appropriately to customer concerns; ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively follow and give directions; ability to meet the physical requirements, including: Lifting and moving up to 50 lbs., working in temperature and humidity fluctuations and with loud noise levels and ability to stand for extended periods.
