Director of Gift Planning

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Institutional Advancement for the College of Saint Benedict is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Director of Gift Planning.   Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President for Development, the Director of Gift Planning will have responsibility to oversee a comprehensive planned giving strategy, manage a portfolio of leadership gift prospects and serve as a vital member of the advancement team.  This position will raise funds for capital and endowment, annual scholarships and other development objectives. 

The College of Saint Benedict, located in Central Minnesota just outside metropolitan St. Cloud and 70 miles from Minneapolis, is a nationally ranked liberal arts college for women in the Catholic and Benedictine tradition with a unique academic partnership with nearby Saint John's University.  It is one of only thirteen liberal arts colleges to be recognized nationally by college presidents for innovation and continuing improvement, and is a leader among four year colleges for study abroad and other global education programs.

Qualifications:  BA/BS degree required with a minimum of five to seven years prior successful fundraising or sales and marketing experience, with demonstrated success in securing significant gifts from individuals.  Master's degree preferred.  Capital campaign experience preferred.  Experience in donor/prospect cultivation and solicitation process, including the use of volunteers.  Excellent leadership and management skills with attention to detail, with skills in organization of systems and aptitude for analysis of detailed data.  The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with demonstrated success in working in a team setting.  Flexibility and willingness to travel on a regional and/or national basis.
