The Department of Campus Ministry at the College of Saint Benedict, invites applications for the full time, administrative position of Assistant Director of Campus Ministry for Liturgy and Faith Formation. This position has the primary responsibility for planning, development, direction and coordination of all programs which relate to Faith Formation and Liturgy. The Assistant Director is to be particularly attentive to spiritual engagement and development of women and the formation of the student Campus Ministry team. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: engage student ministers, SJU Campus Ministry and the monastery to coordinate, plan and implement programs that promote understanding of Catholic Christian faith and the Benedictine tradition on campus; organize, promote and facilitate Faith Communities programming; effectively collaborate and coordinate with SJU Campus Ministry with related programming; prepare and assist with planning, preparation and oversight of the student liturgies on campus in collaboration with priest and student liturgists, this includes arranging all the liturgical ministries, music and environment, and scheduling student ministers for the weekly Eucharist and seasonal communal celebrations of the Sacrament of Reconciliation; plan prayer services and vigils for unexpected significant events or tragedies and responsible for the Rites of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) with the preparation for and celebration of the rites of the RCIA.
Qualifications: BA in Theology required: MDiv or MA in Theology, Pastoral/Campus Ministry, or related area preferred. Previous Campus Ministry experience desired. Must be a practicing Roman Catholic with continuing active membership in a parish/faith community. Effective communication skills (listening, speaking, writing ability) with demonstrated ability to provide dynamic and innovative spiritual leadership development for college students; must have the ability to maintain a high level of competence, judgment, and appropriate confidentiality; ability to work collaboratively and independently and posses experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher and Powerpoint. This position requires the ability to be able to work days, evenings and weekends as required by Campus Ministry programming. Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally for the purpose of Alternative Break Experiences and other departmental initiatives.
