The Department of Residential Life/Student Development at the College of Saint Benedict invite applications for three full time, 10 month positions of Residence Director (RD). The RD is responsible for creating a supportive residential living environment that promotes the values and practice of Catholic, Benedictine living. As an engaged member of the community, the RD promotes the development of women and facilitates community building within the residence hall. Additionally, the RD serves as a mentor, resource person, and role-model. This position will supervise, train and evaluate student staff; communicate behavioral expectations to residents; assist in the overall residential life operations and work cooperatively with other college constituencies to provide quality service to students.
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of two years post-bachelor residential life experience that included supervisory responsibility required. Master’s degree preferred in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, or related field with a minimum one year experience living in residence halls. Must be able to live on campus. Ability to understand or willingness to learn and support the values of a Catholic, Benedictine tradition. Understanding of human development with a concentration in women’s development. Excellent oral and written communication skills with leadership development skills and ability to practice and teach shared leadership. Demonstrated counseling and referral ability. Ability to facilitate group processes in a variety of settings and knowledge of professional standards in student affairs.
