The College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University (CSB/SJU) seeks a dynamic and experienced individual to provide strong leadership for the institutions’ Fine Arts Programming. The Executive Director reports to the Vice Presidents for Advancement at both CSB and SJU, and has primary responsibility for the programming of performing and visual arts on both campuses, and for the operational and financial performance of Fine Arts Programming. The Executive Director works closely with the academic administration and the faculty of the Music, Theater and Visual Arts Departments and others (such as Dance) to develop collaborative programs and activities that will serve both campuses and the surrounding communities. In addition to leadership acumen, the chosen candidate must possess effective organizational and solid interpersonal skills – including a track record in leading, managing and developing a team, a firm understanding of management processes and proactive community building skills. He or she should have a strong interest in and passion for developing a collaborative working relationship between Fine Arts Programming and the institutions’ academic departments.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred. The right candidate will have a minimum of five years of successful experience managing complex performing arts facilities, preferably on a college or university campus or in an institution with strong educational programming.
