Deputy Director

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Fine Arts Programming (FAP) at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invite applications for the position of Deputy Director.  As the internal representative of the Executive Director, the Deputy Director oversees all facets of the FAP programs including: stage performances, gallery exhibitions and residency activities.   The Deputy Director is also responsible for facility operations; inter-staff supervision and communication; and communication and collegiality with the fine arts academic community and the campuses at large.  In addition, this position will work with the Executive Director to oversee show budgets and contracts.   

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree is required, masters degree is preferred.  A minimum of five years of experience in management and supervision with direct experience in or demonstrate knowledge of performing and visual arts.  Must also have an understanding of the academic culture as well as the business aspect of non-profit work.  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work enthusiastically with a wide range of individuals to foster productive partnerships and relationships and possess good judgment, sensitivity, analytical skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritize.  This position requires flexibility in hours which include some nights and weekends.
