The Department of Student Development at the College of Saint Benedict invite applications for the full time position of Assistant Director of Residential Life. The Assistant Director of Residential Life is a member of the Division of Student Development at the College of Saint Benedict and reports to the Director of Residential Life. The Assistant Director is responsible for helping to create a supportive residential living environment that promotes the values and practice of Catholic, Benedictine living, health and wellness, and women’s development. This is a live-off residential life position that includes general and collaborative responsibilities of student staff supervision, student interaction, crisis intervention, department representation, conduct adjudication and programming. The Assistant Director will work collaboratively with the Associate Director and Director of Residential Life to design and implement strategies that enhance the campus culture and educational outcomes of students.
Bachelors degree required with a minimum of two years post bachelor’s experience as a full-time professional, with a preference given to those candidates with residential life and/or student activities experience. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with women’s development, women’s issues, and women’s leadership. Ability to interact with the community of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University to provide both single gender and coeducational learning environments. Demonstrated leadership skills, crisis intervention training, and programming background with the ability to work within a team and motivate others. Effective communication, organization, and human relation skills.
Must be willing to maintain a high level of competence and professionalism. Discreet judgment and confidentiality are expected at this level of responsibility. This position requires a flexible work schedule including some weekends and evenings. This position requires computer proficiency and abilities.
