About Us...

The colleges are part of a centuries-old Benedictine tradition of faith, learning, and community.  St Ben's and St John's are living examples of what is possible when you demonstrate and honor the Benedictine heritage.

In 2006, the colleges established Heritage Day in celebration of their 1,500-year Benedictine heritage, and 150 years of Benedictine education in central Minnesota.  Its purpose is to gather the CSB/SJU communities to explore and celebrate the legacy of their Catholic and Benedictine identity and heritage, thereby ensuring that the colleges’ history and tradition of faith, learning and community are made known to students, faculty and staff.

The goals of Heritage Day are

  • To celebrate and continue the Catholic and Benedictine identity and heritage of CSB/SJU and to build up the community through this celebration
  • To provide communal reflection time on our CSB/SJU mission statement relative to community and the common good
  • To activate a cross-campus conversation among all campus constituencies in service of the common good.

CSB and SJU are grounded in the past with a commitment to the present and future.  Come celebrate that heritage and legacy with all that work, teach, play, and live within our campus communities.
