Alternatives to Hazing
Teams and organizations should design new member activities that focus on the mission, purpose and function of the team or organization. Commitment, dedication, group cohesion and competitiveness will come from engaging in activities the promote the values and purpose of the team or organization. Alternative ideas include but are not limited to:
- Challenge Course at SJU http://www.csbsju.edu/Arboretum/Education/CSBSJU/OutdoorRecreation/OLC.htm
- Attendance at other sporting events or campus events as a team such as the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner or a performance at the BAC
- Community service projects on or off campus
- Participate in intramural sports
- Rotate hosting dinner/movie nights between teammates apartments/houses
- Plan a weekend for family to attend your event(s)
- Participante in ILCP courses together
- Go ice skating or rollerskating
- Plan a fun campus event for all students to attend
