Government Relations

The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University engage in a number of state and federal government issues, principally related to student financial aid.  We are active members of the Minnesota Private College Council and the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, who represent the interests of private colleges and private college students in the Minnesota Legislature and in Washington, D.C.

We actively work with elected and government officials to advocate on behalf of policy issues in our students' or institutional interest.  However, as tax-emempt organizations, we are not allowed to endorse or oppose particular candidates for elected public office.

This web page is intended to connect our campus community with public issues that are important to the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University.  We encourage you to explore the useful links on this page to learn more about who represents you in the legislature and Congress, to join the Minnesota Private College Council Legislative Action Network, and to participate in Private College Day at the Capitol.

We hope these web pages and links serve you well and invite your comments.
