Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you decide on this program?

I chose to study abroad in Japan because I do not know a lot about Japan besides it's association with anime and sushi. I wanted to go to Japan to learn more about Japan in ways as to how the people interact with one another and the food.


Briefly describe a specific cultural experience you had on your trip that made a lasting impression.

The people were very kind and the environment there was different. I liked the nature in Japan a lot, and visited many nice places in Japan.


Describe your overall study abroad experience.

It was an amazing experience for me, I have learned a lot about myself in a different environment. I got to visit so many different places and gain a new perspective of the world.


Based on your experiences abroad, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?

You get to learn more about how others see the world and and how they view life. You get try new things and experiences that you might not get to in the states.


What advice can you offer for CSB|SJU students who are considering or planning to study abroad?

Do not hold back, allow yourself to be open to try many new things while abroad.
