Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you decide on this program?

Studying abroad for a semester was always on my bucket list. It is one of the main reasons why I chose to attend CSB. I have always had the desire to immerse myself in a new culture and I thought that spending a semester in London would be the best way to accomplish this. I specifically chose London because of the international internship. As a Global Business Leadership major, I thought that this would be beneficial for my future career.

Briefly describe a specific cultural experience you had on your trip that made a lasting impression.

Several experiences while being abroad made a lasting impression. However, interning at Strategy International made the largest impact. The company I worked for employed several people from all around the world. This broadened my mindset of the world, as well as, understanding the importance of international business.

Describe your overall study abroad experience.

Overall, I loved my experience in London. I enjoyed all my classes, loved meeting locals at my internship site, and making lifelong csbsju friends!

Based on your experiences abroad, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?

Benefits: Meeting new people from around the world and broadened my knowledge of the world.
Academically: Took classes that fulfilled common curriculum and major requirements.
Personally: learned to get out of my comfort zone and accomplished traveling to several countries in Europe.
Professional: Learned how important globalization is for businesses today.

What advice can you offer for CSB/SJU students who are considering or planning to study abroad?

My advice is to travel, travel, travel!! Make sure you take time to research other countries prior to visiting because this will help you make most of your travel. Also, get out and explore all of London! Try new foods!!
