1. How has management helped you in your life?
I received my management degree (along with an accounting degree) from the College of St. Benedict/St. John's University. I then earned my MBA from the Carlson School of Management (U of MN). Both of these experiences prepared me well for my career path. I started working for several family owned businesses as well as helped launch a start-up company. After 15 years in the business world, I decided to pursue another passion - higher education. I always knew that I wanted to work at CSB/SJU, and in 2008, the opportunity presented itself. Being an academic advisor and specifically advising management majors, has been a wonderful & fulfilling experience.
2. What do you like most about your job?
I love working with "emerging adults" in one of the most exciting times of their lives. Watching students mature and grow in their four years here is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job.
3. What would be your advice to students?
My advice to students is often very simple, "Go to class, use your words, and do your work well". Although this advice may seem simplistic, it can often be applied to all aspects of life.
