Dr. Ozzie Mayers is the current Professor of Gender Education and Development. He has been a member of the CSB/SJU English Department since 1979 and has been on the forefront of integrating gender analysis into the curriculum since coordinating a major FIPSE grant in Gender and Curriculum from 1984-87. Ozzie has engaged in gender education and development over the span of his teaching and research career at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University. His expertise in women's development and men's development issues continues to impact student learning in and outside the classroom.
The designation of Professor in Gender Education and Development recognizes Ozzie’s many contributions, highlights the important role of gender development at our institutions, and creates a locus of leadership and connection for our many gender initiatives.
