Pam Bacon Presents
Gender Differences in Students’ Identification with CSB/SJU:
A Social Psychological Analysis

4:15-5:15 PM
Little Theater, Quad 346 (SJU)

CSB/SJU students possess high levels of school sprit. Interestingly, however, there is a clear gender difference in the way in which students identify with these institutions. Across multiple studies using a variety of methodologies, it appears that women tend to identify with both CSB and SJU, whereas men tend to identify with SJU only. Professor Pam Bacon (Psychology) will present the results from these studies to the Forum. Additionally, using empirical evidence, she will discuss how social psychological theory can be used to interpret these gender differences in school identity.
