Matching electrical needs with the output of solar panels: important considerations and some possible applications.

Energy from the sun is most readily available either directly through passive heating of objects or indirectly through the production of wind. In this session we will consider a third method – solar generated electricity from photovoltaic panels. Important factors include the types of panels to choose from, the energy outputs of the panels and their cost.

We will also look at two applications where solar panels are used. The first is providing electricity for a remote cabin and the second is a boat powered exclusively by solar panels.
