ARTWORKS

In 1998 CSB/SJU Fine Arts Programming established Artworks, a visual arts outreach program that brings local youth into the Saint John’s Art Center Galleries to view artwork on exhibition and participate in hands-on art making. Funded by Target Stores, this program has developed an ongoing partnership with area Boys and Girls Clubs, offering after school workshops and weeklong summer art camps. Working with visiting artists and CSB/SJU art students, Artworks participants get to experience working with a wide variety of art materials and art making techniques. Artworks provides fun challenges for students in creative problem solving and seeks to further their understanding of how visual arts and the creative process play a vital role in our world.
