Artist Statement:
My work is centered on the figure and how it inhabits space and time.  I toy with presence and absence, transparency, movement, and distortion of the figure.  Emotion and curiosity drive the form that the figures will take, how much of a presence they will have, and how they will exist in the space. Through self-portraiture I am able to physically explore and feel my way through the space in unconventional ways.  In using other figures as subject, I am able to guide their bodies through space and project emotions on them to stimulate their curiosity and engage their bodies.  Using extended exposures I am able to record time.  My goal is to challenge the figure, the way it expresses emotion through form, and how it exists in space and time.
