An introduction to the dance styles of the African Diaspora, drawing from West Africa and the Caribbean, with Afro-Latin influences, accompanied by live drumming. The class begins with a flowing and energizing warm-up and will get you moving to the sounds of the djembe. We will focus on freeing the body and spirit, putting rhythmic patterns together, and discovering the roots of contemporary dance and music that originated in Africa.
