The topics of exercise, physical activity, and sport lend themselves to a variety of conversations and themes. College students may think of classes in which they learn and perform physical activity skills. At CSB/SJU, there is much more!

Overview of Program
- Faculty will assist you in designing a four-year plan, as well as clarifying your opportunities for any of these career choices.
- The Coaching Certification requires 10 credits plus a zero credit coaching practicum--All courses are either one or two credits.

Developing an Effective Coaching Certification Curriculum on a College Campus
Program Highlights
- Coaching certification program meets the minimum requirement to be a head coach in Minnesota.
- Coaching Certificate Program addressed each of the 40 national standards for athletic coaches identified by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE).
- Students can earn a coaching certificate or sports medicine minor along with any major of their choice.

Student Resources
- Students that complete the Theory of Coaching Soccer course can now be awarded the U.S. Youth Soccer "E" Certificate through the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association. Additional information here.
- The Department of Exercise Science and Sport Studies now has a designated laboratory space. The room will be utilized for both course specific laboratory experiences and student/faculty research.
- The Department of Exercise Science and Sport Studies now has Dartfish technology. The motion analysis technology will be incorporated into several courses including Kinesiology, Human Performance, and the Resistance Training Techniques courses.
