Environmental Studies Learning Community

The Environmental Studies Learning Community (ESLC) is not a typical college course. Although it has a course name and number (ENVR 215: Environmental Studies Learning Community), the ESLC is more than just a class.
Meeting once per cycle during the fall semester, most class time is dedicated to discussing topics related to environmental sustainability and our region of central Minnesota.

This course is designed to provide students with a hands on approach to environmental studies.
In addition to classroom work, students learn through various activities including weekend camping trips, local tours and environmentally-related service projects.

The ESLC is also a social setting in which students new to environmental studies get to know each other, learn to work together, and can share their ideas with faculty in casual settings.
Anyone can join the ESLC-- ES majors, minors, or those who are simply interested in the program. For more information, visit your academic advisor or contact the department chair.
