Special Achievements: Committing myself to taking action and creating discourse in areas of social justice and women's issues, culminating in serving as the Social Justice and Women's Issues Representative of the St. Ben's Senate and a co-chair of the women's week planning committee in 2002 Receiving the Service Scholarship in 2001 by redefining service to include speaking truth to power through protesting and civil disobedience. Taking the risk of writing opinion columns twice a month for the Record where I put my ideas and writing on display and learned from the sometimes critical responses. Creating spaces for community in the classroom. living space, and wilderness; and learning from the beautiful souls that emerge.
Immediate plans after graduation: I will be training to become an environmental education instructor. My internship is at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry's Camp Kiwanalong on the northern coast of Oregon.

At an AmeriCorps site, I am volunteering for at least one year in Nome, Alaska. I will be working at a Catholic radio station, KNOM FM, in the area of news, while servicing the remote Eskimo villages. I’ll try my hand at interviewing, writing, editing, and broadcasting. My future abode is the station’s volunteer house next door to the station with six other volunteers. I hope to check out Russia and convince someone to visit me by dog sled!
