Departmental Exit Criteria

The following criteria are the standards for acceptable performance leading to graduation and recommendation for licensure. The teacher must achieve the following:

1. A cumulative, major, and specialty/Education Department G.P.A. of 2.5 or above, and a grade of "C" or above in all required Education/Licensure/Endorsement courses
2. Earned passing scores on all state mandated tests (PPST, Praxis II -- Content, and Pedagogy prior to August, 2010 OR MTLE tests after August, 2010)
3. Field-based demonstration of basic skill mastery: quantative, written, and oral
4. Field-based demonstration of adequate content knowledge
5. Field-based demonstration of effective communication and relational skills with students and colleagues
6. Successful completion of all student teaching rotations and related requirements
7. Clear demonstration of professional and ethical behaviors
