Fall 2011 or after (choose one of the following four courses)

- ENGL 342 Studies in British Literature after 1700 (4) (Fall only)
- ENGL 346 American Literature to 1865 (4) (Fall only)
- ENGL 352 Shakespeare (4) OR ENGL 222A Literature of English Renaissance (4)
- ENGL 382 Race and Ethnicity in U. S. Literature (4) (spring alternate years) OR ENGL 383 Post-Colonial Literature (4) (spring only)
- ENGL 387 Intro to Linguistics (4) (fall only)
- COMM 103 Mass Communication and Society (4)
- COMM 200 Public Speaking Basics (2) (fall only)
- COMM 252 Listening Basics (2) (Fall only)
(4 credits of the Student Teaching Experience counts as the capstone course for English/Education students)
