What inspired you to become an economics major?

After taking ECON 111, I found myself increasingly interested by the explanatory power of economic frameworks. I knew I wanted to major in something rigorous, challenging, and practical.

How did the major prepare you for your career?

Economics gave me a set of analytical tools, research skills and quantitative skills that I've used in every job I've had across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors. The skills I developed in the major have become increasingly important as I've advanced in my career and have helped set me apart.

What advice do you have for economics majors?

Take as many quantitative courses as you can to be prepared for graduate or MBA programs. Learn the origins of economic ideas, their limitations, and their ethical importance.
