CSB Dance Team 2010
The platinum team competes at the University of St. Thomas Invitational Dec. 4, 2010

On Saturday, Dec. 4, the College of Saint Benedict platinum dance team competed for the first time this season, taking first place in the jazz category at the University of St. Thomas Invitational in St. Paul.  There were 16 teams that competed at the invite.  Nine of the teams are Division III opponents that the CSB team will likely face at the national tournament in the jazz category.

The CSB elite team took fourth place at the invite with the St. Thomas dance club taking third and Gustavus Adolphus coming in second.  The platinum team also won the "Best Crowd Appeal" award for their routine.

Consistently a competitive program, the dance team is self-coached, led by their captains.

"Taking first place in our division along with the 'Best Crowd Appeal' award was definitely the confidence boost our team needed as we transition head-on into competition season," senior Tiana Woitas said.

The platinum team heads to Orlando, Fla. to compete at the NCAA Division III Nationals on Jan. 15, 2011.
