Recruiting Information
- 18 players make up the varsity and junior varsity roster. Approximately 24-28 players are invited to team tryouts which start a couple days prior to the start of school.
- Having one of our staff see you play, or sending a video of your skills is one of the essential parts in evaluating which players are invited to tryouts.
- Both varsity and junior varsity practice together. The varsity team competes with a very strong schedule with 22 dates of play. This includes 3-4 regular season tournaments. The junior varsity team will play 7 matches and usually one tournament.
- The style of play consists of high communication, fast-tempo offense, specialized defense and a never-say-die attitude.
- The season runs from the last week of August to the first week in November when playoffs start. The top six teams from the MIAC advance to the conference tournament. The Blazers have made it to the playoffs for the past four years.
- The JV team rarely misses classes for travel and games. The varsity team misses classes primarily for extended trips and post-season play.
- Daily practice runs from 4:00-6:30 PM. Specialized training and instruction happens prior to the beginning of practice.
- The Blazers travel on extended trips every other year (San Diego, Colorado Springs, and Texas).
- CSB has made it to the playoffs every year. We are one of four MIAC schools to accomplish this feat.
- CSB Volleyball has won six conference championships, including back to back championships in 1997 and 1998.
- CSB Volleyball raked in the top 25 AVCA National Poll all season with their highest raking during the season being 21st.
- The Blazers were ranked 9th nationally in 1999.
