Coon Rapids, Minn., - The College of Saint Benedict golf team finished 24 strokes better than their second round score, but it was not enough to move the Blazers into fourth place place at the MIAC Women's Golf Championships held at Bunker Hill Golf Course in Coon Rapids on Monday afternoon. CSB, which finished with a 1,043 team score, entered the final round in fifth place 12 strokes out of fourth place, but a final round charge still was not enough to move the Blazers past Macalester with a team score of 1,038.

Coon Rapids, Minn., - The College of Saint Benedict golf team is two-thirds of the way through the MIAC Women's Golf Championships being held at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, and the team is within striking distance of their third place goal for the weekend. The Blazers have a two-day total of 708, which is good for fifth place, after shooting a second round 359 on Sunday afternoon. CSB trails third place Carleton by 15 strokes, and fourth place Macalester by 12 shots. First place Gustavus leads St. Thomas by six strokes. First-year player
Kathryn Hauff (Fargo, ND, Shanley) led CSB with an 87, while senior Leigh Bartholomew
Leigh Bartholomew (Lake Elmo, MN, Stillwater Area) carded an 89. Senior
Ann Dressen (Alexandria, MN, Jefferson) shot a 90 for the second day in row. The third and final round of the league championship will tee off on Monday at 9 a.m.

The College of Saint Benedict Blazers (3-3 MIAC, 7-3 overall) continue to improve their record after defeating the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titans (1-0-1 WIAC, 5-2-2 overall) today 1-0, in a non-conference game played in St. Joseph, Minn. Despite cold winds and rain showers, the Blazers took control in the beginning and held onto the lead.
