2005-2006 Season Review:

INDOOR

The Blazer track and field team capped off an eventful winter season with new indoor records and a sixth place finish in the MIAC Indoor Championships.

The Blazers won two of their indoor meets this season. They defeated Concordia-Moorhead in a dual meet 107-82 in February, led by senior All-American Patti Clintsman and first-year Mary Schletty. The team also dominated the CSB/SJU Quadrangular meet, where they won by 99 points over the second place St.Cloud State team.

Individually, junior Jennifer Hanson set a new CSB record in the weight throw of 14.46 meters (47'5 1/4") at the MIAC Championships. Clintsman also set a record of her own in the 400 meter with a time of 59.08 at the CSB/SJU Quadrangular. Sophomore Emily Coborn placed second at the MIAC Championships pentathlon competition earning All-MIAC honors. Coborn's performance was the highest finish a CSB athlete has ever attained in the pentathlon at the MIAC Championship level.

Two Blazers met qualification standards for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Clinstman qualified in two events: the 55 meter dash and long jump. Senior All-American Jenna Wendorff, a three-year national championship veteran, had a qualifying throw in the shot put. Clintsman finished 16th in the long jump and 13th in the 55 meter dash, but did not make the finals in either event. Wendorff placed 8th overall with a throw of 13.38 meters (43' 10.75"), once again earning All-American honors.
