1991 Season Review

The 1991 CSB indoor and outdoor track and field team gave new meaning to the saying "records are meant to be broken" as they re-wrote the record book 21 times this year.  First year coach/author Margaret Gehring penciled in 11 new indoor marks and 10 new outdoor records.  Both team improved their conference standing this year also.  The indoor team moved into seventh place while the outdoor squad jumped into eighth place in the MIAC.  The best finish of the outdoor season came in the Macalester/GBS Invitational when they placed second among a field of 14 teams.  A year ago CSB had 19 track and field members, this season 35 athletes made the roster.
