INDOOR
CSB capped off the indoor season with a fourth place finish at the MIAC Championship. Sophomore Leah Wurm ran her way to a first place finish in the 5,000 with a time of 18 minutes and 23.67 seconds, while Patti Clintsman finished second in the long jump at 5.32 meters.
Sophomore throwing sensation Jenna Wendorff qualified for her second straight NCAA Indoor Championship. Wendorff achieved a first place at the MIAC Championship, breaking her own record with a throw of 13.97 meters to advance. At the NCAA Championship, at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Wendorff placed sixth in her preliminary heat with a throw of 13.20 meters and was unable to advance to finals.
OUTDOOR
The College of Saint Benedict track and field team finished seventh at the MIAC Championship. After two NCAA Qualifier meets, the Blazers were able to send five athletes to the NCAA Division III Track and Field meet in Decatur, Ill.
Blazer sophomore Jenna Wendorff earned All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Track and Field meet. Wendorff had a fifth place finish overall in the shot put with a throw of 45 feet 2 1/4 inches. Wendorff became the fourth Blazer to earn All-American honors in track and field, joining Alexis Brunner, Caroline Boatz and Katy Deignan in the elite group.
Also, for the first time in school history, a Blazers relay team made it to the national meet. The Blazers 4x100 relay team of sophomores Patti Clintsman, Kristina Granger and Bethany Keene and junior Sarah Nezworski finished seventh in their heat with a time fo 49.51 at nationals.
