Wendorff Throws to All-American Honors

May 30, 2004 - Blazers sophomore Jenna Wendorff earned All-American Honors at the NCAA Division III Track and Field meet.  The Fulda native had a fifth place finish l in the shot put with a throw of 13.77 meters.  Wedorff becomes the third Blazer to earn All-American honors, joining Caroline Boatz and Katy Deignan in the elite group.

St. Cloud Times May 27, 2004 - St. John's University senior Mike Marschel is setting his expectations high heading into this weekend's NCAA Division III national outdoor track and field meet.

Blazers Off To Outdoor National Championships

May 26, 2004 - Sophomore thrower Jenna Wendorff, Fulda, Minn., returns to the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships this weekend at Millikin University at Decatur, Ill.  Wendorff will be joined by the Blazer 4 X 100 relay team ... it marks the first time CSB has sent a relay team to the national championships.  The relay team consist of  a trio of sophomores; Patti Clintsman, Kristina Granger and Bethany Keene, as well as junior Sarah Nezworksi.  Wendorff is seeded 4th among a field of 18 throwers, and the 4 X 100 relay team is seeded 15th out of 16 teams.


Track and Field Provisionally Qualifies Three

May 21, 2004 - St. Benedict junior pole vaulter Maria Wilkes, provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships with a vault of 3.37 meters at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The 400-meter relay team of Patti Clintsman, Sarah Nezworski, Bethany Keene and Kristina Granger set a school record with a time of 48.30 -- another provisional mark. Jenna Wendorff threw 13.92 for a provisional mark in the shot put.

Wendorff Rolls, Three New School Records

May 15, 2004 - Sophomore Jenna Wendroff set a new school record with a throw of 46 feet 10 1/4 inches to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Tournament.  The 400-meter relay team also set a new school record with a time of 48.50.  Patti Clintsman set a record in the 200 with a time of 25.50 at the NCAA Qualifier held at St. Olaf.

Blazers Finish 7th in MIAC Championship

May 8, 2004 - The Blazers finished the MIAC Championships in 7th today.  The 4 x 100 m relay team of Patti Clintsman, Bethany Keene, Sarah Nezwworski and Kristina Granger placed first with an NCAA provisional time of 48.85.  Sophomore Jenna Wendorff also posted an NCAA provisional score with her second place finish in the shotput (13.55 m).  Sophomore Clintsman placed 4th in the 100 m (12.54) and 200 m (25.8).

Blazers finish day 1 in 5th

May 7, 2004 - The Blazers have completed the first day of the MIAC championships with 24 points, putting CSB in 5th place.  Sophomore Patti Clintsman had a good first round with a qualifying time of 12.43 in the  100 m and a fifth place finish in the long jump (5.15 m).  Sophomore Bethany Keene qualified in the 200 m (26.13). Clinstman, Keene, Sarah Nezworski and Kristina Granger qualified in the 4x100 (49.28).  First year Anne Redmon qualified in the 400 m (59.87).  Sophomore Kate Aubrecht posted a time of 4:54.8 in the 1500 m.  Sophomore Leah Wurm took second in the 10000 m run (38:11.65).  First year Kelsie Hansen qualified in the 100 m hurdles (15.87).

Blazers Finish Well at Bagpipe Invitational

April 30, 2004 - The Blazers had a good showing at the Macalester Bagpipe Invitational, which did not keep team scores.  Sophomore Patti Clintsman won the 100 m (12.91) and took second in the long jump (5.07m).  Also capturing victories for the Blazers were senior Cindy Blendermann and sophomore Jenna Wendorff. Blendermann won the 3000 m (10:52.48), while Wendorff took the shotput (13.75).  First year Amanda Enzler finished second in both the 100 m hurdles (16.44) and the triple jump (10.76).

Orgeman Finishes 5th in Heptathlon

April 30, 2004 - Junior Meghan Orgeman finished the two day Heptathlon in fifth place.  Orgeman earned 3781 total points.  In addition to Thursday's events, Orgeman today completed the long jump, javelin throw and 800 m run.  Junior Tiffany Trost finished in tenth with 3541 points.  Kristi Colbenson of Carleton won the competition with 4499 points.

Orgeman 5th After First Day of Heptathlon

April 29, 2004 - CSB junior Meghan Orgeman is currently ranked fifth after the first day of competition at the MIAC Heptathlon.  Orgeman has a total of 2252 points after completing the 100 m high hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200 m dash.  Junior Tiffany Trost has 2093 points and is currently in 10th.  Competition continues at noon on Friday, April 30 at Carleton College.

Blazer Track Takes Fifth at Macalester

The Record April 29, 2004 - he Blazer Track and Field team had another successful day Saturday by finishing fifth at the Macalester Invitational.
The team had a total score of 95.5 which placed them behind St. Thomas, St. Olaf, Minnesota and Macalester.

Blazers Compete at Tommie Twilight

April 28, 2004 - The Blazers competed at the Tommie Twilight Invitational today.  Sophomores Patti Clintsman and Kate Aubrecht earned victories for CSB.  Clintsman won the 200 m (25.64) while Aubrecht took the 1500 m (4:51.60).  Sophomore Jenna Wendorff placed second in the shot put (13.83).  Bethany Keene finished second in the 400 m dash (59.52).  The Blazers also took second in the 4x100m relay (49.22).

Blazers Finish 4th at Macalester Invite

April 24, 2004 - The Blazers finished fourth at the Macalester Invitational with 95.5 team points.  The 4x400 m relay team took first place (4:08.7).  Sophomore Jenna Wendorff took second in the shotput (13.76m).  Sophomore Kate Aubrecht took second in the 800 m (2:20.3).  In the long jump, sophomore Patti Clintsman (5.27m) and first year Amanda Enzler (4.97m) took second an third, respectively.  Enzler also placed third in the triple jump (10.44m). First year Anne Redmon finished 3rd in the 400 m (1:02.37).

Clintsman Leads CSB Track Team With Two Wins

St. Cloud Times April 18, 2004 - Sophomore Patti Clintsman won the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.68 seconds and finished second in the 100 in a time of 12.89 to lead the College of St. Benedict to a sixth place finish at the Manitou Classic women's track and field meet Saturday afternoon.

Blazers Compete at Manitou Classic

April 18, 2004,  The Blazer track and field team competed in the Manitou Classic in Northfield over the weekend. Saint Ben's picked up a victory through the 400m relay team.  Sophomore Patti Clintsman won the 200 meters (25.68) and earned second place in the 100 meters (12.89).

Blazers Finish Second at Norse Relays

April 3, 2004 - Today the Blazers finished in second place (156.6 points) at the Norse Relays.  CSB earned four first places.  Junior pole vaulter Maria Wilkes earned first place when she cleared the 9-6 1/4 pole.  Sophomore thrower Jenna Wendorff took first place in shot put with 43-5 1/4.  Saint Ben's 'A' teams earned two first places in the 4 X 100 relay race (50.55) and in the 4 X 200 relay race (1:49.56).   The Blazers will next race Sat. April 17th in Northfield at the Manitou Classics.

Blazers First at CSB/SJU Invite

March 27, 2004 -  Despite poor conditions, the Blazers won their first outdoor meet of the season at SJU with a final score of 210.0.  Sophomore Patti Clintsman and junior Sarah Nezworski finished the 100 meter in first (12.7) and second (13.2), respectively.  Clintsman also won the 200 meter (25.8) and the long jump (5.21m).

The Record March 25, 2004 - After their strong showing at the MIAC championships, the St. Bens track and field team is working hard to improve and become a force in the outdoor season.

The Record March 18, 2004 - While the rest of the CSB/SJU campus was still enjoying the last days of spring break, the St. Ben's track and field team was competing at the MIAC indoor championships held in St. John's McNeely Spectrum.

St. Benedict's Wendorff Blazes Her Own Path

St. Cloud Times March 11, 2004 - Though she is following in some fairly large footsteps, Jenna Wendorff is determined to chart her own path at the College of St. Benedict.  That's why, after competing in basketball and track and field as a freshman, the Blazers sophomore decided to focus on track exclusively.

Blazers Finish 4th at MIAC Indoor Championship

March 6, 2004 - The Blazers finished 4th overall at the 2004 MIAC Indoor Championships, held at Saint John's University.  St. Thomas won the meet with 146 points.  Gustavus and Concordia notched 94 and 93, respectively.  Saint Ben's finished with 77.5 team points.

Blazers Compete at the Ole Open

Feb. 27, 2004 - The Blazers competed at the Women's Ole Open (scores were not kept).  Sophomore runner Leah Wurm earned first place in the 5000 meter run (18:23.92).  Wurm came in over a minute before the second place runner.  In triple jump first-year jumper Amanda Enzeler placed second (35-5 3/4).  Sophomore Patti Cintsman earned third place in the long jump (16-9 3/4) and fourth place in the 55 meter (7.58).  Sophomore thrower Jenna Wendorff earned fourth place in the shot put (42-2 1/4).  On March 4, 2004 CSB will compete in the MIAC Pentathlon at SJU.


Blazers Win CSB/SJU Quad

Feb. 21, 2004 - The Blazers won the CSB/SJU Quad meet with 227 points.  Saint Ben's earned six first places and 15 second places.  Sophomore thrower Jenna Wendorff earned two first places for CSB.  Wendorff placed first in the weight throw (40-5) and the Shot Put (41-7 1/4).  First-year jumper Amanda Enzler placed first in the triple jump (35-3 3/4).  Sophomore jumper Patti Clintsman earned a first place for CSB in the Long Jump (16-7 3/4).  CSB runner Leslie Rau took first place in the 600 meter (1:51.33).  Runner Erin OBerton placed first in the 800 meter (2:33.9).

Blazers Earn Second Place

Feb. 13, 2004 - The Blazers placed second place (2.0 points) at the River Falls Coca-Cola Invitational.  Sophomore Patti Clintsman won the long jump (5.50 m) and qualified provisionally for the NCAA Championships.  She is currently seeded 8th in the nation.  In the 400 meter dash sophomore Bethany Keene placed second (61.87).  First-year Anne Redmon earned second place in the 600 meter dash (1:40.27).  Senior Cindy Blenderman contributed CSB's third second place in the 1500 meter run (5.03.90).  In the 3000 meter run junior Steph Noonan placed second (11:06.90) and sophomore Maria Witham earned third place (11:12.66).  The Blazers next meet will be Sat. Feb. 21, 2004 at SJU.

Saint Ben's Takes Second Place

Feb. 9, 2004 - On Fri. Feb. 6, 2004 the Blazer's placed second at the Carleton Triangular Meet with 114.5 points.  Saint Ben's earned two first places.  Sophomore long jumper Patti Clintsman earned first with a jump of 17-6 3/4.  Sophomore shot putter Jenna Wendorff contributed the other first place with a 41-11 1/4 throw.  Wendorff is now ranked 13th in the nation.  CSB's next meet will be hosted by UW-Riverfalls on Sat. Feb. 14 at 11:15 a.m.

Blazers Take Third

Jan. 31, 2004 - The Blazers track and field team earned third place in the Cobbers Duals Meet.  Saint Ben's beat MSU-Mhd 93.5-78.5, Saint Mary's 91-71, UND 101.5-49.5 and BSU 107-52.  CSB lost to Concordia 103.5-83.5 and Jamestown 111-74.  The Blazers earned one first place and two second places.  Junior distance runner Stephanie Noonan took first place in the 3000 meter (11.07.63).  Sophomore Jenna Wendorff earned second place in the shot put (39-11 1/4 (12.17 m)).  Taking second place was the distance medley relay consisting of first-year runner Corey Hickner, junior runner Meghan Orgema, sophomore runner Maria Witham and senior Cindy Blenderman (13:28.33).
