Success for Blazer Track and Field at Tommie Twilight

The College of Saint Benedict track and field team returned from St. Thomas, after competing in the Tommie Twilight and has nothing to hang their heads about. “At least ninety percent of the team got a personal best” commented head coach Robin Balder-Lanoue. “We had many great performances.”
In the 400 meter, first year Jillian Daleidan (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) took third place by finishing with a time of 59.37. Senior Kristin Haubrich (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee) and also took third place finishes in their events. Haubrich finished the 1,500 meter in 4:45.72, and first-year Ashley Irons (Twin Falls, ID./Twin Falls) finished the 3,000 meter steeple chase in 11:44.49.
Sophomore, Margot Branigan (Roseville, Minn./Roseville) took fourth place in the 5,000 with a time of 18:15.56. Fellow sophomore, Ali Galzki (Maple Grove, Minn./Wayzata) also took fourth place in the triple jump event with a jump of 10.62m. Galzki also took seventh place in the long jump, with a jump of 4.93m. Senior, Kaylee Rasmussen (Waconia, Minn./Waconia) finished the 800m with a time of 2:19.64, giving her a fifth place finish. Senior Gustie Garberich (Lake Lillian, Minn./Bold) took fifth place in the triple jump with a jump of 10.46m and also took ninth place in the long jump. 
The Blazer’s 4x400 relay shined, by finishing in second place with a time of 4:01.97, while the 4x100 relay took third place with a finishing time of 50.61.
Other top ten finishers were junior Patty King (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) who took ninth place in the 400 meter, first-year Molly Noel (Eagen, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) who took 10th place in the 800 meter and first-year Laura Deal (Lake Crystal, Minn./Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial) also took 10th place in the 200 meter.
Blazer track and field continues May 1st and 2nd in Northfield, Minn. for the MIAC Heptathlon.
