Second Place Finish for Track and Field

The Blazer track and field team began their outdoor season with a second place finish on their home track by finishing with a team total of 108.5 points, finishing behind the University of Minnesota Duluth. Many Blazers finished in the top eight of the majority of events throughout the day.

In the 55 meter dash senior Annie Clintsman (Maplewood, Minn./Hill-Murray) took 6th place with a finishing time of 7.75 seconds. In the 55 meter hurdles, Ashley Aggen took 5th place with a time of 9.51 seconds and fellow teammate, first-year Katie Brown (Appleton, Minn./Lac qui Parle Valley) took 7th place with a time of 9.57 seconds. In the 200 meter, first-year Jillian Daleidan (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) took 6th place with a time of 27.57 seconds and fellow first-year Laura Deal (Lake Crystal, Minn./Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial) took 9th place with a time of 27.96 seconds. Daleidan also took first place in the 400 meter with a finishing time of 60.69 seconds. Senior Kaylee Rasmussen (Waconia, Minn./Waconia) took a first place finish by over eight seconds in the 800 meter with a time of 2:20.88, first-year Molly Noel (Eagen, Minn./Cretin-Durham Hall) finished in second place with a time of 2:28.57, while sophomore Alyx Chapman (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) took 5th place with a time of 2:30.20. 

Sophomore, Margot Branigan (Roseville, Minn./Roseville) finished with a time of 4.55.91 giving her a 3rd place finish in the 1,500 meter, while fellow teammates, senior Kristin Haubrich (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee) and first-year Ashley Irons (Twin Falls, ID./Twin Falls) finished behind taking 4th and 5th place respectably. Seventh place went to first-year Lindsey Smith (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) in the 5,000 meter with a time of 20.27.70.

In the jumping events, sophomore Ali Galzki (Maple Grove, Minn./Wayzata) took 4th place in the long jump with a distance of 16-8 ¾ (5.10m). Senior Gustie Garberich (Lake Lillian, Minn./Bold) took 8th place in the long jump with a jump of 15-9 ½ (4.81m) and Garberich also took 3rd place in the triple jump with a jump of 34-0 (10.36m). Junior Serina Aubrecht (Shorewood, Minn./Minnetonka) took 3rd place in the pole vault event with a jump of 9-2 ¼ (2.80m), and in the shot put, sophomore Heidi Golliet (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) took 6th place with a throw of 30-7 ½ (9.34m).
  
The Blazers continue their outdoor track and field schedule April 5th when the Blazers travel to Warburg, IA for the Warburg select.
