1999 Review

The Blazer tennis team (5-8 overall, 5-5 MIAC fifth place) entered the MIAC Championships as the sixth seeded team based on final regular season standings, but then jumped into fifth place with a  strong two-day outing in the league meet.  CSB recorded 74 points in the conference tournament.   First -year head coach Leif Johnson, called the team's conference tournament performance "a total team effort" because each player scored points during the league tournament.  Senior Kim Robertson earned All-MIAC honors by advancing to the championship match at number two singles.  Another senior, Liz Keifenheim advanced to the semi-finals at number three singles.  In number one doubles Robertson and Keifenheim earned an appearance in the semi-finals.

As a team, CSB posted impressive wins over Concordia-Moorhead, Hamline and St. Mary's.
